The Canadian Experience Class is one of the three federal economic immigration programs managed through the Express Entry system. This program prioritizes individuals who have acquired qualifying work experience in Canada and demonstrated their ability to contribute to the country’s economy. The CEC is an excellent opportunity for temporary residents, including international students and skilled workers, to attain permanent residency status.

Requirements for the Canadian Experience Class:

Work Experience Requirements: To be eligible for the CEC, applicants must have accumulated at least 12 months of skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years. This experience should fall under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill levels 0, A, or B.

Language Proficiency: Language proficiency is a crucial factor in the CEC application process. Applicants are required to demonstrate proficiency in either English or French by providing valid test results from approved language testing organizations.

Plan of Action – Express Entry Profile: Prospective candidates must create an Express Entry profile and express their interest in the Canadian Experience Class. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) assigns points based on factors such as age, education, work experience, and language proficiency.

Invitation to Apply (ITA): Successful candidates with the highest CRS scores are issued Invitations to Apply for permanent residency during regular Express Entry draws conducted by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Permanent Residency Application: Upon receiving an ITA, applicants have 60 days to submit a complete permanent residency application. The application is assessed based on the information provided in the Express Entry profile and supporting documents.
